The book for the January meeting is The Member of the Wedding by Carson McCullers. This tragic/comic novel speaks to the loneliness of isolated individuals and their painful yearning to connect. Frankie Addams, a vulnerable, exasperating twelve-year-old, has a need to belong to something. She thinks her brother’s wedding will be the answer. Visitors are welcome.
