NAMI Annual Walk for Mental Health – Walk or Volunteer on Saturday, May 9

The Second Peds team is forming now for NAMI Walk 2015 on May 9!  This 5K walk, which will take place at Dickey-Stephens Park in North Little Rock, raises money for and awareness about NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness.  The primary goal of this 9th annual walk is to raise awareness about NAMI Arkansas and its efforts to achieve high quality treatment and recovery for individuals living with mental illness.  Another important goal is to raise funds

to support NAMI Arkansas programs.  The Second Presbyterian Outreach Ministry supports NAMI Arkansas each year. The NAMI Walk provides you a chance to demonstrate our support for this important cause.  The walk will take place on Saturday morning, May 9 (registration begins at 9:00 a.m., walk starts at 10:00 a.m.).  There is no cost to participate – you sign up online, and then solicit contributions from friends, family, coworkers, etc.  If you raise $100, you get a free t-shirt!  If you can’t attend on May 9, you can still sign up to be a “virtual walker,” and just raise money online, or donate to another walker.

This year, there is another great opportunity – please volunteer to work at registration and refreshment stations from 9:00-11:00 a.m.  If you couldn’t participate in the Day of Service (or if one Day of Service isn’t enough for you!), this will be a fun opportunity to represent Second Presbyterian’s outreach efforts in our community.
