Register for Shrove Tuesday Dinner, Feb. 28

Fantastic flapjack flippers needed! Please register below if you’d like to volunteer to help pour pancakes and cook the sausage and bacon—it’s time for the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner!

Shrove Tuesday, also known in some quarters as “Pancake Day” is the feast before Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent. Shrove Tuesday got its name from the ancient practice of confessing one’s sins (also known as “shriving”) but pancakes got involved when Christians wanted to use up all the food items in the home that they planned to “give up” during Lent, such as milk, eggs, sugar, and fat—add flour and you’ve got a great pancake recipe.

Join us for our delicious pancake supper with sausage, bacon and toppings bar on Tuesday, February 28, 5:30-7:00 p.m.; $5 per person or $15 for the family. Gluten-free/allergy friendly pancakes will be available. Please RSVP or volunteer for flapjack flipping duty by completing one of the forms below.
