Many groups exist within our larger church family which provide an opportunity for people in our church to be connected to one another through fellowship activities and caring support.

The Pastoral Care Ministry seeks to provide and promote spiritual, emotional, and tangible physical support to individuals on a one-to-one basis throughout their life in the church.  Click here to send a confidential prayer request to Karen Akin, our associate pastor for congregation nurture.

The Fellowship Ministry strengthens our congregational community by providing times outside of worship and learning opportunities for members to get to know one another through participation in creative activities. Every member is part of a neighborhood Community Connections group which provide an experience of Christian community in a small group setting by enabling regular contact and providing care in times of need.

Second Presbyterian Church is a Stephen Ministry congregation. Lay caregivers (called Stephen Ministers) provide one-to-one care to the bereaved, hospitalized, in hospice care, divorced, unemployed, relocated, and others facing a crisis or life challenge.

“And let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds, not neglecting to meet together…but encouraging one another.”  Hebrews 10:23-25
