Poinsettias are used to decorate the Sanctuary and Second Hall during Advent. You are invited to place a poinsettia in honor and/or memory of a loved one. Funds received in excess of those purchased will be used in benevolent ways to help others during the holidays. A list of those being honored and remembered and their donors will be printed as a special insert in the Christmas Eve bulletin. The deadline to order a poinsettia is December 11. The cost is $15.00. It’s almost time to help hang the greens and decorate our church for Advent! Our annual “Hanging of the Greens” event and worship is November 27,  starting with an all-church breakfast in the Great Hall at 9:00 a.m.  The cost is $5 a person, $20 maximum per family.  Following breakfast, at 9:50 a.m. folks younger and older will spread out to various volunteer stations throughout the building to set up Christmas Trees, make decorations and support other opportunities like blessing bags for the homeless and holiday cards to homebound members and those serving our country.  We will celebrate the start of Advent as one worshipping community at 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary with special music and words. You don’t want to miss the fun and fellowship of this delightful annual tradition!  Reservations can be made online HERE.

On October 23 at 9:30 a.m. and Noon there will be the Annual Meeting of the Congregation. See you there!

A memorial service for John Youngblood will be held on Saturday, March 19 at 1:00 p.m. in the sanctuary. There will be a reception following the service in The Great Hall.

Ash Wednesday begins the season of Lent with the focus on repentance and confession as we acknowledge our sins. On Ash Wednesday, along with the reading of Scripture and sharing of prayers, we impose ashes as the ancient symbol of repentance for those who know that we all stand together as sinners, in need of the mercy of God. We look forward to sharing this service with you.

Shrove Tuesday Celebration will be on Sunday, February 27.  Save the Date for this all-church reception following the 11:00 a.m. worship service.  Celebrate the season change into Lent with Mardi Gras beads, king cake and more.  Meet our newest church members.  Weather permitting, we’ll be out front on the courtyard.
