Are you thinking about joining Second Presbyterian Church? In order to help you become acquainted with our church, its history and mission, we have specifically designed a class for prospective and new members taught by our pastors and lay leaders. This class will explore what we believe as Presbyterians as well as opportunities provided at Second Presbyterian Church to live our faith through study, fellowship, and service.
The class will be held on three Sunday mornings during Sunday School from 9:50 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. in room 68 beginning Sunday, September 11.
The class schedule is as follows:
9/ 11 – Introduction to Second Presbyterian – Church History and Tour
9/ 18 – What Do Presbyterians Believe? – An Overview of Essential Beliefs
9/ 25 – Getting Connected – Spirituality and Church Membership
Also part of the class is an evening of dinner and conversation with church staff members at the home of Steve and Missie Hancock. All class participants are invited to attend this special event which will help you to get to know the church staff and their areas of ministry. The dinner will be held on Sunday evening, September 18 at 6:30 p.m. Childcare is available for this evening gathering.
Attending the class does not obligate you to join the church. Please join us for the class and the dinner at the Hancock’s home. Contact Karen Akin, 227-000 or karenakin@secondpreslr.org to register for the class or to get more information. We hope to see you in the class on September 11.
