Dr. Chuck Chappell, Hendrix Department of English, will lead a discussiion of William Faulkner’s As I Lay Dying. The novel revolves around the death of Addie Bundren and her request to be buried in the city of Jefferson. Much of the story tells of the family’s difficult 40 mile wagon journey through rural Mississippi to fulfill her wish. The characters each narrate sections of the story allowing the reader to know their minds and inner thoughts.
