In some ways, a new year does not necessarily mean a new set of opportunities or new resolutions, at least not when grief is involved. In fact, it can be surprising to some that grief has a way of remaining unchanged when unchallenged. Speaking the name of the dead, sharing their funny quirks and even irritating foibles can be some of the ways in which we move our grief forward. If you are mourning the death of a loved one and experienced the holidays as a time of difficult, or even a time of surprising peace, you are invited to join this community of caring for lunch and conversation. Those of us who have persevered through grief can bring hope to others that a new year can mean growth for all those experiencing loss. Consider this group as part of your resolution for a healthier life.
Our next luncheon is at noon on January 17, 2017, and reservations can be made by visiting www.faithandgrief.org or by calling (469) 251-9612.
