As autumn begins to pick up speed, as leaves change and fall and the crisp wind begins to blow, many people can also can also be reminded of how life has changed since their loved one died. This October, our clergy liturgist is Rev. Rebecca Spooner, a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Nationally Certified Counselor, and also a Presbyterian pastor. Rebecca served congregations for more than 13 years and was licensed as a therapist in 2007. Working with UAMS, she began a training process to enable her to better serve children and adolescents who have experienced trauma, and received training in Sand Trays, a form of Play Therapy appropriate for all ages. We welcome individuals with grief new or old to experience the healing found in a simple meal and conversation with others who understand. Table conversation will be facilitated by trained volunteers, and everyone has the opportunity to say what they need, or to cry, or to sit in companionable silence. All are welcome at noon in Second Hall. Please contact Sharon Hughes, firstname.lastname@example.org or (501) 227-0000 for more information or to reserve a boxed lunch.
