These services will include the congregation processing with palms, and special Palm/Passion Sunday music by the Adult Choir and guest musicians.
Maundy Thursday, March 29 • 6:00 p.m., Second Hall
This service will include a simple meal, communion, hymns, scripture, foot-washing, and a homily by Rev. Lindy Vogado. Since a meal is included in this service, the kitchen staff needs to know how much food to prepare. Interwoven into this Tenebrae service of readings and hymns, the congregation will hear, in both text and music, the story of the final days and hours leading up to Jesus’ crucifixion.
Easter Sunday, April 1 • 8:30, 9:00, 11:00 a.m.
Easter morning is an occasion of great joy and renewal. The Easter Gospel will be proclaimed, the great Easter hymns will be sung, and the Lord’s Supper will be celebrated at all three services. Music for the 8:30 and 11:00 a.m. services will be provided by the Adult Choir and the Quapaw Brass Quintet. Joyful hymns and triumphant anthems will proclaim the resurrection of Jesus Christ. These services will conclude with the full congregation, joined by brass, organ and the adult choir, singing George Frideric Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus.
