Adult Sunday School Class May 6-27 “David in Four Seasons”

Sundays, May 6-27
9:50-10:50 a.m.
Leader: Randy Hyde
Second Hall

According to biblical tradition David was the second king in the ancient United Kingdom of Israel who helped establish the eternal throne of God. A former shepherd, David was renowned for his passion for God, his touching psalms and musical abilities, his inspiring courage and expertise in warfare, his good looks and illicit relationship with Bathsheba, and his ancestral connections to Jesus of Nazareth in the New Testament. In this four-week class, Randy Hyde will lead participants in an exploration of Kind David based on the four seasons of his life: Spring (youth), Summer (young adulthood), Fall (mid-life), and Winter (old age). For background study, attendees are encouraged to read 1 & 2 Samuel. The sessions will be based on the following specific passages:

  • May 6: Spring – 1 Samuel 16-17
  • May 13: Summer – 1 Samuel 23
  • May 20: Fall – 2 Samuel 3-5
  • May 27: Winter – 2 Samuel 11-23
