Wednesdays Together is an opportunity for folks of all ages to gather for four evenings of fun, fellowship, and growing in faith. We will share a meal together and nourish our minds and souls through a variety of classes and activities. Children, youth, and adults can engage in study, creative expression and spiritual growth.

Three Books That Changed My Life

Leaders: Steve Hancock, Alisa Secrest, Lindy Vogado
Location: Second Hall

Pastors Steve Hancock, Alisa Secrest, and Lindy Vogado will each talk about three books that have significantly influenced their life and ministry. They will share some of the key ideas and concepts from the books, and talk about why the books are important to them.

Couples Enrichment Class:
Because My Partner is Worth It

Leaders: Rebecca Ward & Howard Turney
Location: Room 65/66

Have you ever argued about how to spend the little free time that you have? Money? Maybe your relationship is amazing and you want to strengthen it? Whatever your answers, this class is for you! This class will provide participants the opportunity to examine their communication skills and better understand the meaning behind the interactions between themselves and their most intimate partner. The influences of family-of-origin on marriage will provide a greater understanding of why we act the way we do toward the person we should care about the most.

Rebecca Ward and Howard Turney have many years of practice experience working with couples. Rebecca holds masters’ degrees in Social Work and Psychology. Howard earned a Ph.D. in marriage and family therapy. Together they have practiced for a combined 70 years and have worked with couples experiencing all kinds of difficulties. Rebecca and Howard have presented at numerous conferences and marriage retreats promoting the wellbeing of couples. Rebecca authored a book, How to Stay Married Without Going Crazy. Howard’s book is titled Everybody Has a Story. These narratives will provide the backdrop for an interesting discussion.

Activities for Youth

Middle & High School Youth

Location: Youth Building

Middle school and high school youth will meet to watch the movie Inside Out and explore feelings expressed by our Triune God throughout scripture. It will be a midweek break from all the craziness of life for youth to discover together how the concepts of the movie intersect with our life and faith.

Activities for Children

“The Berenstain Bears” Film Festival
3 years old – Kindergarten

Location: Preschool Room 5

This animated series stars a fun loving family of honey Bears whose love, loyalty and humor allow them to overcome any obstacle that finds its way down to their sunny dirt road. Little ones will learn life lessons and community values through the adventures of this bear family.

Inside Out: An “Emotion” Picture Experience
1st – 5th Grade

Location: Bible Village

September 5
Pizza, Popcorn, and a Movie, 5:30-7:15 p.m. in Bible Village. All 1st – 5th graders will join in Bible Village to watch Inside Out together.

September 12 & 19
Through art, games, music, and more children will explore the five emotions depicted through the characters in the movie. Children will eat dinner in the Great Hall with families and join in Bible Village at 6:30 p.m.

Parent Notice:
