In this “not your ordinary Lenten study” author, professor, and biblical scholar Amy-Jill Levine delves into the history and literature surrounding the last days of Jesus’ life. Levine is University Professor of New Testament and Jewish Studies at Vanderbilt Divinity School. In this book and video series she brings her expertise, her story-telling skills and her love of the Gospels to the last week of Jesus’ life by looking at six different episodes. She unearths deep connections between the Jewish traditions that formed Jesus and the event of the Passion. Each session will include biblical study, a brief video clip by Levine, and reflection led by a teaching team of pastors and educators. The class meets Sundays, March 1-29, 9:50 a.m. in Second Hall.
