Laissez the bon temps rouler—This is the declaration of Mardi Gras, born of a tradition of preparing for Lent. People of faith celebrate together before entering a season of repentance and transformation. We at Second Presbyterian have much to celebrate as we prepare for a journey toward Easter Sunday.
Instead of our traditional Shrove Tuesday Supper, Second Presbyterian is sharing a meal you can take home this year. Instead of pancakes, take home Brenda’s delicious egg and sausage casserole, along with a side of cinnamon rolls. Did you know the tradition behind Shrove Tuesday and Mardi Gras was to work through our carbs, fats and such in preparation for a season of transformation? It’s like the beginning of a new year for you, and all of us. Place your order and pick up during our drive-through times. Orders not picked up will be donated. We will then see you on Ash Wednesday, February 17, as we begin our Lenten journey together.
