Second Presbyterian is seeking a full-time Associate Director of Music and the Arts. The purpose of this position is to administer and conduct various programs/ensembles within our children’s music program (preschool through   5th grade), conduct Adult and Youth Handbell ensembles, and grow a robust, participatory music program which maintains and builds upon Second Presbyterian Church’s rich history of musical excellence. The Belonging Ministry is hosting a church-wide lunch after worship! Our next lunch will be Sunday, June 2 after the 10:00 a.m. service. We will gather at the Lord’s Table during worship and then gather round our Great Hall tables to enjoy a delicious meal together.  Menu: Brenda’s Brunch! Sausage casserole, cinnamon rolls, potato casserole, fruit salad. Veggie and gluten free options will be available.

A popular Scottish-American tradition which features pipe and drum, beautiful hymns and the blessing of the family tartans of our congregation. Representatives of Lyon College will help us celebrate our Scottish arts and traditions. The Kirkin’ o’ the Tartans will be offered at both our 8:30 and 11:00 am services.

Shopping for Lyon College’s Food Pantry

In preparation for the Kirkin O’ the Tartans service on April 28 when Second will partner with Lyon College, we are inviting members and friends of Second to shop for the Lyon College Food Pantry. We even prepared a shopping list to use when you are at the store in the coming weeks. You can bring these items to church on the when the Children of Second will collect them before each service and during Sunday School. (You are also welcome to donate cash or checks and drop off these food items in the main office before worship on the 28th.)
