We will celebrate our ongoing commitment to creation care with a ceremony on Sunday, October 6 to bless the 81 solar panels and two electric vehicle (EV) charging stations recently installed by Seal Solar. Second Presbyterian is the first church in Arkansas with EV stations! Please join us following the 11:00 a.m. service for the brief blessing ceremony led by Rev. Lindy Vogado on the south side of our church campus where the panels and EV stations are located.
The solar panels and EV stations are significant additions to the environmental initiatives at Second, a PC(USA) certified Earth Care Congregation since 2010.
Funding for the solar array, which will provide more than 39,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, was raised during our recent capital campaign and aided by a $2,000 grant from Arkansas Interfaith Power and Light.
The church will also be part of the National Solar Tour on Saturday, October 5 and Sunday, October 6, 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
