Together in the Spirit

Our buildings are closed but our church is not!

While we have suspended physical gatherings for now, we remain the church. And while social distancing is our temporary norm, God is not at all distanced from us. Listed below are opportunities for spiritual growth. For more information on each opportunity, please see the church newsletter or the church website.

May 31: “Severely Neglected Pentecost”
Pentecost is one of the most important days in the church calendar, but it is also one of the most neglected! As well as studying what the scripture says about the movement of the Holy Spirit and the day when all heaven broke loose, we’ll meditate together on why we have so overlooked the power and fire of this beautiful Sunday.

We will welcome Reverend Carol Clark, a long-time Presbyterian pastor who currently serves as part of our Presbytery Staff has led a variety of creative workshops and classes around the Presbytery related to worship and liturgy. We look forward to celebrating Pentecost with Carol and learning more about this holy day often referred to as “the birthday of the church.” Contact Jeannie Ford for Zoom information.

9:50 a.m. The Friendship Bible Study Class
“The Present Word”
Contact Phillip Boggs for Zoom information.

9:50 a.m. Connections Class

9:00 a.m. Children’s Virtual Sunday School

Pray for those already affected by pandemic in various ways, for health care providers, first responders and teachers, for the wisdom of government leaders in policy-making, and for the peace of God to enfold us all during this season. Our Cares and Concerns line continues to be updated on weekdays. Call (501) 227-6117 to hear joys and concerns.

There is much we can do for each other. Let the church know about your joys and concerns by calling the church office or contacting Sharon Howard.
