A Celebration for all Ages!
During your birthday month, celebrate your birthday by giving a dollar for each year of your life to our church’s endowment fund.
Whether you are 1 or 101 years of age, this gift gives back for all the blessings in your years.
Our endowment fund provides financial support for all of our Church’s missions and ministries.
Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy a cupcake at the Birthday Fund table in the narthex on the second Sunday of every month. Birthday Fund envelopes are located at the reception desk in the church office, the welcome center in the narthex, at the back of the sanctuary, on the bulletin board across from the chapel and in the northwest entry.
The contributions to the Birthday Fund support our Church’s Endowment Fund. It contributes to all of our church’s ministries such as Outreach, Education, Music, Pastoral Care, Youth, Property, and other missions and ministries of our church. Our Endowment Fund helps to ensure our church’s future for sharing the love and ministry of Jesus Christ throughout our community and world. Many thanks to all of our Birthday Fund participants.
Birthday Fund Spotlight
Martha Carvill enjoyed including our church in the celebration of her 80th birthday by giving to the Birthday Fund. She thinks the Birthday Fund is a creative idea for our church. Her grandchildren love the cupcakes and she would like start celebrating their birthdays by giving to the Birthday Fund, as well. Thank you, Martha for including our Church in your birthday celebrations.
Martha has been an active member in the life of our church, our presbytery and our senate for 47 years. When she and her husband, Bo, moved to Little Rock in 1964, they visited other churches but liked Second Church for the excellent preaching and she says that is still true today. She has been an elder, active in Presbyterian Women, taught Sunday school, a Stephen Minister and is proud to have been the moderator of Steve Hancock’s search committee. She has been the moderator of the Presbytery of Arkansas, the moderator of the Committee on Ministry and moderator of the Senate of the Sun. Martha says she just loves our church and is happy to participate in the Birthday Fund.
