Thank you for visiting the website of Second Presbyterian Church. This congregation was founded in 1882 with 14 charter members. We now have a membership of over 1800, and are the largest Presbyterian Church in Arkansas. As a community of worship, inquiry, fellowship and care, members and visitors worship together in a spirit of reverence and joy, study together with reasoned and reflective faith, and work together for compassion, justice and peace in the world.
Fully twenty-five percent (in 2011 over $550,000) of the church’s annual budget goes to serve those in need outside the walls of Second Presbyterian Church—locally, nationally, and internationally. Incisive and challenging preaching and teaching fosters our members’ heartfelt Biblical faith without sacrificing intellectual integrity. Our worship is enriched by an excellent music program, including adult and children’s choirs and bell choirs. Christian education programs for all ages nurture our love for and knowledge of God, and help us grow as thoughtful and compassionate people. And through listening, encouragement and prayer, we provide spiritual and emotional support to individuals and families in the midst of challenging circumstances of life.
Please join us for worship on Sunday morning, but join us also every day in following God’s greatest command: to love—for in this we continue the ministry of Jesus Christ in the world.
