As mothers of young children we often find ourselves making tough choices about how to use our time, many of those choices seem out of our control. This is why it is so important to take time to nurture your own relationship with God and to reclaim that deep sense of who you are. In our first meeting of Second Cup the participants decided to read together The Simple Faith of Mister Rogers: Spiritual Insights from the World’s Most Beloved Neighbor by Amy Hollingsworth. The hope is that this book will nurture our spiritual lives, help build community among the moms participating, and nourish us for our lives as mothers, partners, friends and more. We’ll try to read a chapter for each meeting, but our plan is just to see how it goes. The book is available in paperback and eBook formats through online retailers. All moms of young children are invited to join us in this study, whether you read along or not.
Ordinarily we will meet the 4th Thursday of each month, so mark your calendars for July 25, August 22 and September 26. Childcare is available at the church by reservation with Karin Howze (karinhowze@secondpreslr.org ).
