It is with great joy that we introduce to you our new Coordinator of Music for the Nine O’clock service, Sarah Jane Guzman. Sarah Jane is a familiar face to many here. She joined Second Presbyterian Church in 2009 but was involved with our Adult choir before joining. Sarah Jane studied vocal performance at UALR under Dr. Bevan Keating. In addition to serving as a section leader with the adult choir she has given a great deal of time and energy to the children’s music program, assisting Mary Ibis with their choirs, hand bells, musicals and special camps. We are thrilled that she will be able to continue her work with the children’s music program as she shares her many gifts in a new venue with our Nine O’clock worship music. We look forward to being beneficiaries of her gifts of music, leadership, and faith.
We also want to thank our drummer, Jimmy Powell, for stepping up and taking the lead with coordinating music for the past several months. Jimmy, our pianist Rachel Emery, and our dedicated volunteers (Rick Owen, Gene Reid, and Fred Fennig) have served us well and will continue to share their musical gifts in ministry in Nine O’clock Worship.
