Camp Alex – Camp for Youth Affected by Someone Dying of Suicide

The Alex Blackwood Foundation for Hope is now accepting camper registration forms for the first annual Camp Alex, a summer camp exclusively for youth survivors of suicide. Every 14 minutes, someone in America experiences the death of a mom, dad, brother, or sister to suicide, causing young people to lose part of their childhood to grief as they struggle to cope with the loss.

Camp Alex provides young survivors of suicide a place where they can be around other kids and adults that really get it, while learning valuable coping skills to use in their everyday lives.

Summer camp is mostly about fun, and we feel our campers deserve a fun experience more than most. Camp Alex is scheduled to take place Sunday, June 30th through Wednesday, July 3rd at scenic Ferncliff Camp just outside Little Rock.  Through a partnership with the grief experts at the Center for Good Mourning at Arkansas Children’s Hospital, we have created a fun, safe and healing environment for grieving kids ages 11-14.
