It’s not too late to join this special fall book club for 1st – 5th graders. We are meeting three times during October and November and are reading “Because of Winn Dixie.” We began reading the book together on October 21, and will continue tomorrow and on November 25. Children will be expected to read some chapters at home with parents between the book club meetings. We will explore the themes of understanding prejudice, understanding disabilities, and making friends.
Those who participate in the book club and read the book will have the opportunity to go together to the 2:00 p.m. showing of “Because of Winn Dixie” at the Arkansas Repertory Theater on Sunday, December 8. The tickets will be $20.00 per child. Please let Jeannie Ford (jeannieford@secondpreslr.org) know by Monday, November 4 if your child will attend.
