Presbyterian Pilgrimage to Scotland – Updated Information

It has been a while since I have communicated with you about our Presbyterian Pilgrimage to Scotland, and I wanted to update you.  First, let me say how glad I am that you and I will be travelers together.  I also want to make sure that you have the correct dates.  We will be leaving on Thursday, July 2 and returning on Sunday, July 12.  We will fly into Edinburgh and fly home from Glasgow.  We are still outside the dates when the airlines will give us a price on the group rate, but I should have that figure by the middle of September, if not before!  I will let you know that cost as soon as I know.

Soon, you will need to pay $250 for trip insurance.  This is for land and air.  It covers any pre-existing medical conditions. If you cancel for medical reasons, you will get a full refund.  If you cancel for other than medical reasons, you will receive a certificate for travel to be used within two years of the certificate date.

Other dates to know:

February 15 will be the last date to receive a full refund if you decide to not go on the trip.

March 15 is the last day to sign up for the trip.

March 30 is the day we will need the name on your passport, birthdate, and passport number.

All final payments for the trip are due on April 15.

We have 18 folks committed to the trip and several who have indicated an interest in going.  We need 20 folks to make the trip.  And the more who go, the less the cost will be.

Soon I will send you the itinerary so you can share information about the trip with others in the church and any friends you think might be interested in going with us.

As we move into 2015, I will give you some dates that we will meet together so we can get to know one another before the trip in July.

I am also working on a list of books and articles for you to read, if you want to do some “homework” before our trip.
