We are excited to extend this class based on the Gospel of John led by one of our well-loved “Sunday School Professors” via Zoom. Jim Hester will lead us in an exploration John’s Gospel, making comparisons with the other gospels as appropriate, to show how John used traditions that were different from the other gospels to create his understanding of the person and mission of Jesus for later generations of Christians.
Jim was Professor of Religion at the University of Redlands in California for over thirty years before he and his wife moved to Little Rock and joined Second Presbyterian in 2006. He taught a number of classes in our Adult Education programs, focusing mainly on the gospels and Paul. Jim and D now live in Tucson, Arizona.
Having Jim available and willing to lead our “Second Hall Class” is definitely one of the silver linings in these days in which we continue to be in ministry together in new ways.
